With the coronavirus spreading around the country and world, we find ourselves in an interesting position—with massive amounts of time at home, and no where to go, what is there to do? If you are going stir crazy from being stuck inside, there are many different activities that you can do to keep yourself occupied—and productive!
- Spring Cleaning!
As is tradition this time of the year, cleaning your house in the spring should be something you are already doing! If not, take this time to make your living space into a sanctuary—and if you have children you can teach them the ins-and-outs of home care for when they are older!(It will keep them occupied too!)
- Take a virtual class!
There are many places to take free online courses, and due to the coronavirus the options out there have become even more robust! Check out sites such as khanacademy.com if you have an interest in science and math, or Coursera.org if you have interests that go beyond just math and science! If you have children, you can enroll them into NASA STEM courses via their website at NASA.gov/stem to keep them learning and occupied! If these don’t pique your interest, there are many other options out there for you to choose from—just take a look around using a search engine!
- Catch up on reading!
If you are anything like me you probably have a list of books you want to read one day, and right now is the perfect time to do so! If you have a smartphone, computer, or tablet you can easily get any book you have ever wanted to read from one of many vendors! Amazon, Audible, and many others all have great selections that will take your mind off of what is happening in the world— and if you have family staying with you it might be a good idea to organize a family story night too! Just be sure to not read any Stephen King too late at night!
There are so many things that you can do at home, and this list is just the tip of the iceberg—take a look around you and you will see that there is much to do and enjoy!
