Why Restaurant and Bar Insurance Can Fit Many Businesses!

March 25, 2022 By Flor Caballero Lynch

Just like cars out there on the road, there are many different shapes, sizes, and characteristics with Pubs and Restaurants—and with this being said there are many different things that can affect the cost of a Pub and Restaurant Insurance premium! If you have ever gone through the underwriting process with a hospitality establishment you will know that there are a lot of questions that go into the insurance company’s decision, but each of these questions serve a purpose to find the right level of coverage for you!

Things like your establishment’s location, volume of business, what kinds of activities are being offered (Like a mechanical bull, or other entertainment), the hours you are open, and even the amount of alcohol that is sold are all huge factors in the price of your coverage! Just think of it this way, a bar and grill type restaurant that closes at 10 PM will have a much lower premium than a bar that hosts concerts and stays open until 2 AM every night due to the large difference in risk!

If you have a liquor license for your business you know that you are in a highly regulated space that has a ton of rules and is much different than if you just ran a business that sold only T-shirts and shoes! You know that there are a certain set of rules and guidelines that you must keep track of to retain your license—and due to this a common liability insurance plan definitely wouldn’t cut it!

Ways To Help Stay Positive!

March 23, 2022 By Flor Caballero Lynch

Humans are hardwired to be negative, and due to this evolutionary trait we can get caught up in bad thoughts or start to worry about things that we have no control over! This type of thinking has become a mainstay in the world today, but here are some tips to help you stay positive and mindful of the situation at hand:

  1. Meditate, Meditate, Meditate!
Through meditation you can achieve a better attitude, better health, and a more comfortable existence! Through shifting your attention to your breathing or body exercise you can make a world of difference when dealing with the stress of life!
  2. Shift Your Attention
Just like you would do with meditation, you can shift your attention just about anywhere and anytime if you know what to do! You will find yourself in situations where you might not be able to full-out meditate, but if you are having negative thoughts and want to get away from them turn your attention to a note-pad and paper and write down 5 things that make you happy! It could be memories, a delicious drink you have been wanting to get at the drive-thru coffee shop, or even describe a location (Like a park!) that you like to go to normally!
  1. Recognize and Label Your Thoughts
When negative thoughts or anxiety pops up in your mind, you should always remind yourself that it is a natural part of being human and to not run from it! Your brain is constantly running behind the scenes and is there to maintain your safety, so just acknowledge that your brain is just trying to keep you and your loved ones safe, and not just trying to pull you down into a pit of sorrow! Let yourself know you are alright and label your thoughts as exactly what they are: Thoughts!

Why Do Restaurant and Bar Owners Need Specific Insurance?

March 18, 2022 By Flor Caballero Lynch

Owning your own restaurant, pub, bar, saloon, taproom, can be a very fun and lucrative career to embark upon, but you will soon discover that it can be a lot of work too! Establishing a presence, creating local rapport, and hard work are all required! And with the large initial investment it always takes to start-up, things really start to become clear that protecting all of this hard work is key! Luckily, there are ways to protect that using Pub and Restaurant Insurance!

No matter what kind of pub or restaurant you establish yourself as, either a high-class dining establishment or a TV-covered sports bar, all it takes is one accident to leave you with bills that would end any business, even a thriving pub or restaurant!  Examples of this would be if you did not have Pub Insurance with Building Coverage and there was a fire in the restroom that takes out part of the building! The aftermath would be very expensive, but if you did get that type coverage with

your insurance plan it won’t be a problem!

If your pub or restaurant had the refrigerators and freezers go out causing all your food to spoil, it will be a huge hit to your business in many ways—the time it takes to clean them out and to disinfect, restocking it all with fresh food, and the loss of revenue from not having food at that time can really add up! But if you added Food Spoilage coverage to your policy this situation would be a lot less stressful for you and your business!

Ways To Celebrate Employee Appreciation Day!

March 2, 2022 By Flor Caballero Lynch

Since 1995, the first Friday in March has been declared Employee Appreciation Day! The whole idea behind Employee Appreciation Day is simple: A day for employers in all industries around the world to celebrate their employee’s efforts and contributions!

Why should you celebrate Employee Appreciation Day? It’s a fact that employees that feel appreciated in the workplace perform better and less likely to leave for greener pastures! If you don’t tell them, how will they ever know?

Things like appreciation letters, social media recognition, and in-person leadership recognition are great ways to do so if you are on a tight budget! You can also do things like a flexible workday where your employees can elect to work from a different location that day!

If you wanted to spend some money on your employees you can do things like a team meal, a paid day off, or even a spot bonus all can be great ways to show your appreciation to your employees! Be creative and think of things your employees would enjoy, and no matter the size of the business it will definitely make your employees feel closer!
